How to Write Killer Headlines That Grab Attention and Bring in More Clients!

Most headlines make you fall asleep. They're about as clear as a Joe Biden speech.

Many small business owners fail to realize the impact of a strong headline.

But here’s the secret that's more closely guarded than Epstein's client list:

Just a few simple tweaks to your headline can triple your business’s profits.

“Ok, ok, what is a headline and how is it going to make me more money?”

A headline is your first impression

It’s the first words customers see—whether it’s on your website, ad, email, or even in a simple conversation.

Why Does the Headline Matter So Much?

People are scary busy.

We’re talking scrolling-while-juggling-a-coffee-and-texting busy. No one’s waiting eagerly for your ad or marketing message to appear.

Or refreshing their browser like an over-caffeinated hamster.

Your headline is the way to get their attention. It tells them you got something they want. It must speak on something they care about.

You can have the perfect service or product, but if they don’t immediately know you got something for them…

They’re gone. They won’t stick around to find out.

Crafting a Headline That Is Impossible to Ignore!

I recently reviewed a small real estate company’s marketing.

Their headline? “In for a Dollar.”

I looked at them and said, “I don’t get it.”

They laughed, “If you read the whole ad, it’ll make sense. It’s clever.”

But here’s the thing: It doesn’t matter. The headline didn’t grab me. It didn't catch my attention.

No one’s sticking around to solve your riddle.

No one is holding a gun to my head forcing me to read your ad. I’ve got snacks to eat and Netflix to watch. (Preferably a girl to attend to…)

Then there was this gem:

“Meet Miguel, Our Lead Carpenter.”

Cool, but does that headline tell me anything I want? Nope. I’m not engaged. I’m out.

You’re just talking about yourself, but here’s the hard truth: no one really cares about you.

People care about themselves.

So tell them what your product or service can do for them.

Here’s How to Fix Your Headline to Get Clients Flooding In

A good headline is clear, enticing, impactful, and makes a promise.

Here’s a quick test:

  • Take away all the copy below your headline. ( All the words underneath )

  • Leave just a phone number below it.

Would people still call? Is it enticing? Does it promise something they want ?

Let me show you what I mean:

[YOUR HEADLINE]

XXX-XXXX-XXX

Would anyone call?

Here are some headlines that brought massive returns:

“How to Easily Get More Clients Without Increasing Your Ad Budget”

“4 Little-Known Tricks to Get a Higher Mortgage”

“Finally, a Definitive Solution for the Crippling Effects of Burnout”

“Your Home Sold Within 90 Days or We Pay You $1500”

“How to Start a Small Business With Little to No Money”

See how these headlines stand on their own?

They promise something specific your audience actually wants. Something the audience cares about. A problem they want to solve. Useful information they can use.

It grabs their attention ASAP.

SO,

Let’s stop the nonsense. No more vague headlines that mean nothing. Nobody cares how long you’ve been in business or how many awards you’ve won.

Your audience is asking, “What’s in it for me?”

It’s simple: Tell them what you can do for them—loud and clear.

Once you have their attention, only then do you have permission to sell.
